June - August 2004 I was an Intern with USAID in Eritrea. I investigated how partner organizations
incorporated Gender and Development methods into programs throughout the country. I also produced the Mission's
first newsletter highlighting assistance given towards malaria prevention.
Based on my interviews and observations in Eritrea, I wrote my Clark University Master's research
paper on the development impact of the failure to reintegrate female Eritrean ex-combatants after the war for independence from
Ethiopia.
